Opened in January 1986, the fourth-busiest station in the system has not had significant upgrades in its entire history
Public transit users in downtown Vancouver who use Burrard SkyTrain Station will find themselves adjusting their routes for about two years starting in early 2022.
TransLink announced Tuesday (July 13) the transit agency is going ahead with a “major upgrade” plan for the 36-year-old station. To facilitate the upgrades, Burrard Station will be closed down completely for approximately two years.
The closure is necessary “to allow the work to be done safely and more efficiently than were it to remain partially open during construction,” explains TransLink in a media release.
